IIA Sweden 75 years - Q&A with IIA Global Chair Stacey Schabel, CIA

We're delighted to invite IIA Global Chair Stacey Schabel to join us for a digital celebration. 

Stacey will tell us a personal story of how she came to be an Internal Auditor, and will answer our questions from her global perspective.

Stacey Schabel is the 2026–27 IIA Global Board of Directors Chair. She previously served as the 2025-26 Senior Vice Chair and the 2024-25 Audit Committee Chair of the Global Board, and has also served on The IIA’s North American Board of Directors, North American Content Advisory Council, and Global Financial Services Guidance Committee.

Stacey has over 25 years of experience leading, influencing, and executing audit and risk management activities in large global and U.S. public financial services organizations.

She currently serves as SVP & Global Head of Operational Risk at RGA Reinsurance Company and most recently served for over 12 years as Chief Audit Executive for Jackson Financial, Inc., including more than 8 years as a member of the Prudential plc Global Internal Audit Leadership team.

Stacey is passionate about furthering the risk and internal audit professions and supporting the growth and development of future leaders. She regularly serves as a mentor and shares her perspective through industry speaking engagements and publications. Stacey has been recognized as a Diligent “Modern Governance 100 2024 Honoree,” by the Michigan Association of CPAs (MICPA), a “Woman to Watch – Experienced Leader,” by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), a “Woman in Insurance Leadership,” by Digital Insurance, and a “Notable Woman in Finance” by Crain’s Detroit Business.

Stacey is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with majors in Accounting and Management Information Systems, from Central Michigan University.
